Why Pope Francis is the Real Deal!

For the first time, I want to congratulate TIME Magazine on picking someone who should be the TIME person of the year. Pope Francis is the real deal, because he actually loves and cares about people, a concept mostly missing in modern religious leaders.

Of course, his name, Francis, remindsme of the famous St. Francis who blessed the animals and is their patron saint. (and this from a non-religious but spiritual Buddhist)!
St. Francis was a simple man who astounded and inspired the Church by taking the gospel literally by actually following all that Jesus said and did.

In an age when it’s more important to look good, have lots of money, and say clever things, it’s amazing to have a world figure who IS ASTOUNDING AND INSPIRING PEOPLE BY TAKING THE GOSPEL LITERALLY AND FOLLOWING JESUS’ EXAMPLE!

In the style more like Mother Teresa than a high-ranking Vatican politician, Pope
Francis does three amazing things:

1.  He is NOT into mere appearances.

2.  He loves and cares for all people, not just the wealthy and powerful.

3.  He doesn’t care what people think – he is acting on his own vision of morality and
most important — he is being his AUTHENTIC SELF 100% of the time!

Being YOUR Authentic Self is something we should all try harder to achieve.

Because Authenticity is The Real Deal, too.
